Tom Chilton is back on track for 2025, literally. As our Commercial Director of Birch and an experienced BTCC racing driver, Tom recently took to BrandsHatch for his first test session of the season in the new Team Vertu’s Hyundai i30N Fastback. With a new year ahead, it was all about getting back into the rhythm and dialling in the car. With a great storage facility keeping the car in top condition between events, everything was primed for a strong start.

The session provided valuable data and allowed Tom to fine-tune his setup ahead of the competitive season. We captured the behind-the-scenes action from the session, showcasing footage of Tom around the track. The video has now been released, so be sure to check it out: BTCC 2025: Tom's Pre Season Testing Begins @ Brands Hatch

From Brands Hatch, Tom then headed straight to Barcelona for a round of the Peter Auto Championship, a prestigious historic racing series celebrating classic endurance and touring cars. Espiritu de Montjuïc returns in 2025 to officially open the new season of the championship. Held on the iconic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, this 4.7 km course with its technical corners and long straights provides the perfect setting for fierce racing battles. The race combines mechanical mastery and strategy, challenging drivers while offering a spectacular experience for the car enthusiasts in attendance.
Competing in both the Zytek 04s LMP1 and the Lotus Cortina, Tom put in a strong performance, securing third place in both categories. Racing in vastly different machinery on the same weekend highlighted his adaptability and skill behind the wheel. A solid result to kick off his historic racing schedule, proving once again that experience and versatility are key in motorsport.
With the BTCC season fast approaching, Tom’s focus now shifts to the intense battles ahead on the UK’s top circuits. As preparations ramp up, he’s fully committed to making an impact in the championship. Stay tuned for more updates as the season unfolds.
